Cookie Policy
Last updated April 28, 2025Summary
What does this policy cover? The Remy website (remyapp.io) and the Remy mobile app. The Remy ChatGPT App does not use cookies or equivalent tracking technologies and is not covered here.
Website cookies: Strictly necessary cookies (authentication, session) and analytics cookies (Google Analytics only). The Meta/Facebook Pixel is not present on the website.
Mobile app tracking: Strictly necessary session identifiers, plus the Meta/Facebook Pixel SDK for advertising measurement and retargeting. On iOS this is gated behind Apple's ATT prompt; on Android, consent is obtained at account creation.
How can you control this? Via browser settings (website), iOS ATT settings, or Android ad personalisation settings. See Section 7 for full instructions.
1 What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device and remember information about your visit, such as whether you are logged in.
In mobile applications, similar functionality is achieved through device identifiers (such as the Apple IDFA or Android Advertising ID) and software development kits (SDKs) embedded in the app. Although these are not technically cookies, they serve comparable purposes and are treated equivalently under this policy where relevant.
Cookies set by us (East London St Innovations Ltd, trading as Remy) are called first-party cookies. Cookies or identifiers set by other companies through our services are called third-party cookies. Both types are described in this policy.
Cookies can be session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser — or persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a defined period.
2 Scope of This Policy
This Cookie Policy applies to two distinct surfaces, each with different tracking technologies and consent mechanisms:
- Remy website Web — remyapp.io and any pages linking to this policy. Uses browser cookies only. Google Analytics is the only third-party technology present. The Meta/Facebook Pixel is not used on the website.
- Remy mobile app App — the Remy iOS and Android applications. Uses device identifiers and SDKs rather than browser cookies. The Meta/Facebook Pixel SDK is integrated into the mobile app for advertising measurement.
The Remy ChatGPT App, distributed through OpenAI's ChatGPT App Directory, does not use cookies or equivalent tracking technologies and is not covered by this policy. For information about data processed through the ChatGPT App, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
3 How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies
- To operate our services. Certain cookies and identifiers are essential for our website and mobile app to function — for example, keeping you securely logged in and maintaining your session.
- To understand how our website is used. Web Analytics cookies help us measure traffic and understand which pages and features are most useful. We use Google Analytics for this purpose on our website only. The mobile app does not use Google Analytics.
- To deliver and measure advertising. App The Meta/Facebook Pixel SDK, integrated into our mobile app, enables us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show Remy advertisements to users who have previously used our app (retargeting). This technology is used in the mobile app only and is not present on our website.
4 Cookie Categories
We classify our cookies and tracking technologies into three categories, in line with guidance from the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

The tables below list the main cookies and tracking identifiers used across our services, separated by surface.

6 Third-Party Technologies
Google Analytics Web only
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, on our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyse how visitors use our website. The information generated by these cookies is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. We have enabled IP anonymisation, which means your IP address is truncated before transmission to Google's servers within the EU/EEA.
Google will use this information to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website usage. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy. To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
The Meta/Facebook Pixel is not present on the Remy website.
Meta / Facebook Pixel SDK App only
We use the Meta Pixel SDK, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, within our mobile application. This SDK enables us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and to show Remy advertisements to people who have previously used our app (retargeting).
On iOS, the Meta SDK accesses the Apple IDFA only after you have granted permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline the ATT prompt, no advertising tracking takes place and the IDFA is not accessed.
On Android, the Meta SDK may access the Android Advertising ID for ad measurement purposes, subject to the consent obtained at account creation. You can reset or disable this identifier at any time in your device settings.
Meta may combine data collected through our app with other data it holds about you, including your Facebook profile if you are a logged-in Facebook user. Meta's handling of this data is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy. To manage how Meta uses your data for advertising, visit your Facebook Ad Preferences.
The Meta Pixel is not present on the Remy website.
7 Your Choices
Website — Browser Settings Web
You can manage, restrict, or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from logging in. Instructions for widely used browsers:
Website — Opt Out of Analytics Web
To prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your website visits, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also manage Google's ad personalisation settings via Google Ad Settings.
EU/EEA residents may also use the following industry opt-out tools:
- Your Online Choices (EU/EEA)
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) Opt-out
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) Opt-out
Mobile App — iOS App
On iOS, advertising tracking through the Meta SDK is controlled by Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. When you first install the Remy app, an ATT prompt asks for your explicit permission. You can change your response at any time:
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Find Remy in the list and toggle tracking off
If tracking is disabled, the Meta Pixel SDK will not access your IDFA and no advertising attribution will take place.
Mobile App — Android App
On Android, you can reset or opt out of ad personalisation through your device settings:
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Ads
- Select Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalisation
You can also manage how Meta uses your data via your Facebook Ad Preferences.
8 Legal Basis for Processing (EU & UK)
If you are located in the European Union, European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, the following legal bases apply under GDPR and the EU ePrivacy Directive:
- Strictly necessary cookies (website and app) — processed on the basis of legitimate interest and, where applicable, contractual necessity to provide a functioning and secure service. No consent is required.
- Analytics cookies (website only) — processed on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. These cookies will not be set before consent is obtained. You may withdraw consent at any time using your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out tool.
- Advertising tracking via Meta SDK (mobile app only) — processed on the basis of your consent, obtained through the ATT prompt on iOS or through the account creation flow on Android. You may withdraw consent at any time through your device settings as described in Section 7.
East London St Innovations Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through our first-party cookies and identifiers. Google LLC (for Google Analytics) and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (for the Meta Pixel SDK) act as independent data controllers for the data they collect through their respective technologies, and their own privacy policies govern that processing.
Where we rely on consent as the legal basis, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
9 Retention
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Remy first-party persistent cookies — retained for up to 1 year from the date they are set, or until you delete them.
- Google Analytics cookies (
_ga,_ga_*) — retained for up to 2 years. The_gidcookie expires after 24 hours. - Meta Pixel SDK identifier (
_fbp) — retained for up to 90 days. - Apple IDFA / Android Advertising ID — device-level identifiers managed by your operating system. They persist until you reset or disable them in your device settings.
You can delete browser cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may reset your login session and preferences.
10 Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, changes in applicable law, or for other operational or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Where a change requires us to obtain your consent again under applicable law, we will do so before the change takes effect.
